Compassionate Care Grants
Kitsap Cancer Services provides $500 grants to help cancer patients stay in treatment. The grants may be used to help meet basic needs or access medical services including medications, health insurance, co-pays, or transportation.
The Kitsap Cancer Services Compassionate Care Grants are provided to:
Cancer patients living in Kitsap County (may be receiving treatment outside the County)
Cancer patients receiving treatment at a facility in Kitsap County (may live outside the County)
Male, female, families of children, any type of cancer
Patients within a six month window of active cancer treatment, specifically surgery, radiation, or chemotherapy
Have an individual or household income at or below 250% of the Federal Poverty Level (please see guidelines below)
How it Works
Applications are submitted by social workers assigned to or requested by patients (or another healthcare representative if no social worker is available).
Once the application is completed and signed by a healthcare representative it will be sent to Kitsap Cancer Services where it will be reviewed and processed. At that time a check will be issued to the patient at the mailing address provided. Funds maybe received within a very short period of time, assuming all information is correct and the application has been completed legibly.
For Grant assistance please contact the facility where you are receiving treatment. They will direct you to a social worker or other staff member to assist with the application.
*Please note that no grants will be provided without having been vetted and signed by the treatment facility social worker or qualified representative.
