Kitsap Kids Connected

This program places cancer resource books in the hands of local school counselors and interventionists to better help children who are struggling with cancer in the family. Depending upon the size of the school district, KCS budgets approximately $3000 annually. Recently, KCS has begun supporting a teen group (“We Can Cope”) that meets bi-monthly at the Silverdale YMCA (www.wecancope.net). KCS is fortunate to have two licensed counselors who facilitate and chaperone all activities and meetings for this group of young people who are suffering from a cancer diagnosis in the family.
